The Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) is non-profit organisation based in Cork, Ireland, committed to monitoring and minimising disturbance to marine megafauna through innovation in research, conservation and education.
LOG MARINE WILDLIFE!
We teach the next generation of ocean stewards about the importance of marine conservation through our FREE Citizen Science app - the 'OBSERVERS App', school visits and summer camps.
We conduct long-term monitoring of marine megafauna across Ireland through dedicated research and citizen science. This involves population monitoring through boat-based, aerial surveys, and cetacean bio-acoustic monitoring.
We aim to help Ireland reach their international targets of protecting 30% of Irish marine ecosystems by 2030 by providing critical data towards the designation of Marine Protected Areas (MPA's).
